2013 Run for Refugees
Thank you for supporting the 6th Annual Run for Refugees on February 3rd 2013, Presented by the Africa Plan Foundation!
Because of generous sponsors, donors, and participants, this event raised almost $20,000 to support IRIS's mission of welcoming refugees to our community. Both Senator Blumenthal and Congresswoman DeLauro turned out on February 3rd to help us kick off this year's run, which drew 650 runners and walkers from all over Connecticut- and as far away as Massachusetts and New York City- to New Haven's scenic East Rock Park. The weather was ideal: sunny and brisk- a perfect day for running and for the community to come together to raise awareness of the refugee experience.
