Celebrating 25 Years of Welcoming Refugees

Four Immigrants and Their Belongings

IRIS – Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services celebrated 25 years of welcoming refugees and the launch of a new Legal Clinic with a dinner at the New Haven Lawn Club on Wednesday, April 9, 2008.

Harold Hongju Koh, Dean of Yale Law School, delivered the keynote address. The child of Korean- American immigrants and a native of Boston, Dean Koh is a leading expert on international law and a prominent advocate of human and civil rights. Since 1985 he has taught at the Yale Law School. From 1998 to 2001, Koh served as Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.

Musical entertainment was provided by internationally acclaimed flutist Sergio Pallottelli and harpist Franziska Huhn.
